Next Falcon 9 Launch Delayed Until Feb 21

SpaceX has bee achieved significant success in recovering and re-using Falcon 9's first stage. The rocker will carry Spain's Paz satellite from Vandenberg Air Force Base.

The Paz spacecraft deploys from the Falcon 9 rocket's upper stage to begin its five-and-a-half year Earth observation mission.

SpaceX has a good reason to want to recover the Falcon 9's payload fairing.

We've all been impressed seeing SpaceX land almost everything they've tried to land successfully, and it seems the company is looking to re-use yet another part of their rockets.

For those who are unaware, a rocket fairing is the shell you see at the top of the rocket which protects the cargo that's being launched.

Earlier this month, the company announced that they are close to making payload fairing recoveries possible.

According to SeaTran, the company that owns Mr. Steven, the vessel is 205 feet (62 meters) long, can travel up to 32 knots (36.8 miles per hour, or about 59 km/h) and has a deck measuring 136 feet by 27 feet (41 by 8 m). The meeting, entitled "Moon, Mars and Worlds Beyond: Winning the Next Frontier" will include "testimonials from leaders in the civil, commercial, and national security sectors about the importance of the United States'space enterprise", according to a NASA statement.

The next SpaceX Falcon 9 mission is scheduled for Wednesday (Feb. 21).

SpaceX is planning to use a giant net - one so huge that it takes up the majority of a high-speed watercraft named Mr. Steven - to catch reusable gear that falls back to Earth after missions to outer space. It is also partially reusable, and two of the Falcon Heavy's three boosters landed safely on twin pads at the Cape Canaveral. The rocket will send first batch of two Starlink broadband satellites to test out the technology needed to beam down internet from the space.

As SpaceX prepares to launch another Falcon 9 rocket on Wednesday, the firm also won an endorsement last week from the top USA communications regulator to build a broadband network using satellites.

"I have asked my colleagues to join me in supporting this application and moving to unleash the power of satellite constellations to provide high-speed internet to rural Americans", said Pai. the current chairman of the FCC.
