Bezel-less BlackBerry Ghost may be released in India by Optiemus

Going by the name of BlackBerry Ghost, the smartphone has been defined as "a bezel-less premium Android handset", to be launched in India soon.

Mobile industry watcher Evan Blass has leaked an image of a smartphone, supposedly "Blackberry Ghost" in a Tweet, which might be launching in India anytime soon. Reports also suggest that the upcoming BlackBerry Ghost will be designed and manufactured by Optiemus Infracom which is one of the three licensee for BlackBerry. This is a Delhi-based telecom company which had reportedly bagged the BlackBerry rights late past year. Since then, the Chinese company has released a couple of BlackBerry smartphones, including the KEYone and the Motion. Unfortunately, the device will only be available in India and won't actually be made by Blackberry nor TCL.

BlackBerry made an alliance with the Indian telecommunications company Optiemus to launch this cell phone.

On the other hand, this might be because BlackBerry is using a different metric to decide whether the sales were a success or not. It is rumoured to feature a keyboard-based design and have larger keys than the BlackBerry KEYone. The BlackBerry Luna is expected to be a mid-tier model.

The importance of the Middle East for BlackBerry was underlined past year when TCL staged the global unveiling of the BlackBerry Motion at the Gitex Technology Week exhibition in Dubai last October.

TCL has promised at least two more BlackBerry phones for the remainder of 2018, so whatever happens, we'll be seeing more of this stalwart brand in the coming months. The Canadian phone maker as we already know is gearing up to launch a bazel-less Android phone; and it is definitely headed for India.
