Alan Pardew tells West Brom to stick together amid horror run

West Brom boss Alan Pardew says their supporters must get behind them as they try to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

West Brom were beaten 2-1 at home by Huddersfield for their 14th defeat of the campaign and fourth in succession and sit bottom of the league with 20 points.

"I'd be foolish and not a good manager if I didn't listen to those comments and look at them in reflection and come up, hopefully, with some answers for this Saturday". "If you think I'm going to walk away, with my experience, with a team that isn't functioning well, then you're wrong".

"All I can hope, and what I think was on the surface today, was a commitment from the players to address the situation".

Jonny Evans hit the woodwork, after his hooked shot from the byline rebounded off Orestis Karnezis and on to his near post, while Rondon, who has scored just four times in the league this season, had two chances after the interval to break the deadlock.

"We should have definitely got a draw and maybe should have won", Pardew added. We will do our best and I feel in this moment that we are confident. But unfortunately when the ball doesn't go in the back of the net it's frustrating.

"We have got nine games left and there are still a lot of points to play for".

Pardew's future looks certain to be called into question with his side rooted to the foot of the table and his dismal record of one win in 15 games since he took charge in November.

After scoring the victor against Everton in their previous home game, Deeney stole the headlines for Watford once again 60 seconds later when he raced on to a through ball from substitute Will Hughes and fired a superb finish past Foster into the roof of the net.

The Hornets have climbed to ninth with their top-flight status seemingly secured. "It's important for me to know what the players are sensing on the pitch". "I want to try and make it function as long as I can".
