The Witchwood is Hearthstone's next expansion, adds a new single-player mode

So far, six cards have been revealed, and majority sport new effects.

The video wraps up with a tease for a Hagatha card-a new hero card, quite possibly, but there appear to be at least a couple of Hagathas in the WoW mythos-Hagatha Moorehead, Matron Hagatha-and neither of them look like the character on the card.

Some of the new cards utilize a new keyword, Echo, that allows them to be played again and again (mana limits allowing); others will feature a new Rush keyword.

Curious players can keep up with the now announced cards here. Next month, those cunning and courageous enough to hunt down monsters and outwit witches can claim their bounty in the form of 135 hair-raising new cards, complete with some uncanny new gameplay mechanics.

Today, Blizzard announced the newest expansion for Hearthstone: The Witchwood.

To help them survive the night, players can draw on an arsenal of new tricks, including the eerie new Echo keyword. Rush will be familiar to players, as it functions much like Charge, however Rush cards can only attack minions on the turn that they're played. The expansion also adds another single-player experience that will follow a similar formula to Kobolds & Catacombs' Dungeon Runs, building on one of the game's best ideas from the Year of the Mammoth.

Baku the Mooneater: If your deck has only odd-cost cards at the start of the game, your Hero Power is upgraded. Then, further along in the hunt, players can add special cards to the deck that empowers the player's hero power.

Even more exciting than new keywords is the introduction of the all-new single-player Monster Hunt game mode. Each turn a worgen card is in a player's hand, its Attack and Health are swapped, creating opportunities to play the card at just the right time. This is more of a definition for types of cards that already exist, which can attack other minions on the turn you play them but not enemy Heroes. The expansion packs are now available for pre-order where those who pre-order will be given an additional 20 packs as a bonus along with a "In a Dark Wood" card back. This one-time-only bundle is available on any platform for $49.99 (one purchase per account).
