Walker warns of 'Blue Wave' in Wisconsin

The race was nonpartisan in name only, with national figures such as Joe Biden and Eric Holder and groups like the National Rifle Association pouring in money and endorsements.

Scott Walker warned the GOP that they could be in trouble after a liberal judge won a Wisconsin Supreme Court race Tuesday night.

'The candidate with the most experience in our courts and standing up for the fairness of our courts won, ' she said.

Scholz said it's hard to predict now how that race will go and whether Democrats can replicate recruiting "a good candidate" like Dallet to match Kelly's incumbency, which has shown to carry weight in Supreme Court races.

With the win, she will replace outgoing conservative Justice Michael Gableman, bringing the court's 5-2 conservative majority down to 4-3. 'I think people are exhausted of what's been going on in our state in terms of the money coming in to buy these elections and people spoke out tonight'.

Gov. Scott Walker, who appointed Screnock to the Sauk County Circuit Court, also endorsed him.

"The fact is big special interest spending is no match for the enthusiasm blue voters in Wisconsin feel right now", added Laning.

Dallet's victory comes a week after Walker and Republicans stepped away from their effort to block special elections from being held in the Senate District 1 and Assembly District 42, which have been vacant since December. There are now six women on the seven member court.

Scott Walker says the win by a liberal candidate for state Supreme Court deals a "serious blow" to the conservative movement.

Screnock told the crowd at his election watch party he was unable to get in touch with Dallet to congratulate her on her win.

'People are pretty motivated on the left, from what I can see, ' said Doug Clawson, 58, a communications professional who cast his ballot at a Madison public library as cold rain fell outside.

Scholz said Dallet was able to reach voters in areas of the state former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton lost in 2016. She criticized the justices for not adopting a recusal rule forcing them to step down from cases involving large campaign donors.
