Dwayne Johnson Says Black Adam Could Film Next Year

It's been four years and counting since he signed up for the role, but in a new update, he now reckons that he'll be filming the part next year.

Undateable fame screenwriter Adam Sztykiel has penned down the script for Black Adam. And while there have been doubts in the past about whether or not the Black Adam movie will connect to the rest of the DC Cinematic Universe, Johnson heavily implies that the project has ties to the rest of the universe.

In an interview with Yahoo Movies for his latest film, Rampage, Dwayne Johnson briefly discussed Warner Bros.' production plans for DC's Black Adam movie, saying that the film should start rolling cameras in 2019 if everything goes according to plan. Normally the big United States shows with fabulous prizes happen way past my bed time, but tonight it's going to be at the much more reasonable 8.45pm UK time.

"The script came in, it's great, we're working on it", Johnson teased.

We're pretty excited for this game - especially if Johnson has to improvise a little - but so are the wrestler-turned-movie star's friends apparently, because they won't stop texting him.

On finding the right tone: "It's this phenomenal opportunity for us to nail the tone and make sure he's badass".

The most likely option is that Black Adam will show up in Shazam! There have been rumours suggesting that Johnson's Black Adam will be debuted in Suicide Squad 2, but that's not so sure now either. Johnson has been attached to the role in some capacity for almost ten years and though it now seems to be moving along, the project is still without a director. But we'll just have to wait and see what happens on that end. In Billy Batson's (Asher Angel) case, by shouting out one word-SHAZAM!-this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. "We're seeing that with Wonder Woman and Aquaman".
