Packers: Potential first-round targets in 2018 NFL Draft

Last mock, I made a decision to see what it would look like if the Browns took Baker Mayfield at the top. He most likely won't still be on the board when the Chargers select in the second round, which is one of the main reasons I'd push drafting a linebacker in round one.

In just under three weeks, the National Football League Draft will commence from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the annual event during which the best college football players join the professional football ranks.

Our No. 1 off-ball linebacker in the class, Smith is a true three-down player capable of performing at a high level not just as a run-stopper, but as a pass-rusher and coverage defender as well. Unfortunately in the the SB Nation NFL writers' mock draft, we don't allow the latter. They take the next best available quarterback at pick 3.

There's also players such as Malik Jefferson and Josey Jewell in the draft, but for me, the drop off from Vander Esch to them is much steeper than say Taven Bryan to Tim Settle or Harrison Phillips.

If the Dallas Cowboys play the draft the right way they could end up with two potential first round picks. There are plenty of players to choose from picking so early in round one, especially with a lot of teams in front of them coveting a quarterback early in the draft. They're in need of a quarterback, as they only have two on their roster.

This is a draft where the Bills can re-shape their roster, or make a big trade to move up on a franchise quarterback.

The Bucs' GM Jason Licht has mentioned how they're looking for players with winning attitudes and Derwin James embodies such character. That wouldn't be the worst thing, but it also is a risk for the team to take. Instead, the Saints look back on their Jimmy Graham days and select Hayden Hurst to be a threat at the tight end position.

NFL Network's Maurice Jones-Drew - a former Pro Bowl running back - has a different idea in mind. The Eagles don't have a second or third-round pick.
