BJP biggest protector of all fraudsters: Congress

"(Congress leaders) Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi should apologise to the Hindu community for defaming them globally and taking the Hindus for granted.

Releasing the transcript of a telegram accessed by WikiLeaks, Patra claimed the Congress president had told the U.S. ambassador that the bigger concern in the country was the growing radicalisation of the Hindu community, even though there was some support among the Muslims for the LeT.

Mr Gandhi, who is on a three-day visit to Amethi and Raibareli, claimed that all this is happening because PM Modi has "destroyed the banking system". The Bharatiya Janata Party leader also sought stringent punishment for the guilty in the case.

When a reporter posed a question for Rahul Gandhi to comment on the verdict, Rahul Gandhi ignored the question and told his driver to move ahead. Overall there is more than the adequate currency in circulation and also available with the Banks.

The Congress on Monday said that neither its President Rahul Gandhi nor any other party functionary ever used the term "saffron terror" and that its adversaries were levelling baseless allegations in this regard. "The BJP brigade is the biggest spokesperson, protector and lawyer of all the absconders and fraudsters of this nation who have taken benefit of BJP's "Udaan Scheme" for scamsters who have taken away the money of this nation", he said. The BJP had, last week, asked them to resign and work on pacifying the local population.

The scathing attack from the Congress president came amid the reports of a severe cash crunch in several states after ATMs there stopped dispensing cash. "It is rather unfortunate that all aspirants can not be given tickets for the limited number of seats. Rs 45,000 crore have been given to his (Modi's) industrialist friend", he said, referring to the Indo-French inter-governmental pact inked in September 2016 for buying 36 off-the-shelf Dassault Rafale twin-engine fighters for the Indian Air Force.
