Nintendo Switch Sega Ages collection: 15+ games, 5 named so far

Nintendo Switch Sega Ages collection: 15+ games, 5 named so far

According to Polygon, more than 15 classic games will be released for Nintendo Switch through the Sega Ages program starting summer. It's great to see Sega systems getting so much love, especially on the Switch, but we've still got so many questions about what all the series will entail. Sega also plans to bring their classic games to Nintendo Switch.

Last year, AT Games, a business partner of Sega's and longtime manufacturer of Sega retro consoles announced its Sega Genesis Flashback.

Back in the 1990s, Nintendo and Sega were in virtual hand-to-hand combat for dominance in gaming consoles, and they each had their own gaming franchises, Nintendo with Mario, and Sega with Sonic the Hedgehog.

If Supreme got into video games, they'd probably put out tiny versions of classic consoles.

There's been a slew of announcements from Sega at this year's Sega FES event. Both games will feature Japanese AND English voiceovers as well as options for modern vs. classic controls and a fully scalable screen resolution.

Details on the aptly named Mega Drive Mini are fairly scant. And while Sega has yet to confirm AtGames' involvement with bringing the Mega Drive Mini to market, that hasn't stopped AtGames from tweeting that it would be working on the Mega Drive Mini. Other games that have been announced include Thunder Force 4, and the arcade version of Gain Ground .

The news will hopefully alleviate some disappointment around the news that SEGA Mega Drive Classics is not releasing on Nintendo Switch.

Aside from a very vague release window and an image or two, we hardly know a thing about this upcoming piece of hardware.
