"You're now on trial for your character, not what you're charged with".

"They were only just doing the right thing", she said of Constand and the other women.

That moment had been years in the making. A judge made the ruling on Friday, one day after he was found guilty on three counts of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman in 2004. He was a trustee of the university and she had turned to him for career advice.

She said he had given her three blue pills to "help take the edge off", which she believed to be a natural remedy.

Walking into the Pennsylvania courtroom this month, Lotte-Lublin said she felt nervous to testify in front of Cosby.

But in the court of public opinion, at least, this was not just about Cosby versus Constand. And I've wanted to release it for a good long time. "I couldn't say anything", she said. And I was so happy for victims just everywhere. "I trusted him because he's 'America's Dad'".

Constand quit her job at Temple soon after, and moved back home to her native Canada.

Bill Cosby has been fitted with an ankle bracelet and confined in his Philadelphia house after being found guilty of sexual assault.

Montgomery County prosecutors at the time declined to file charges against Cosby. Constand sued Cosby after prosecutors initially declined to file charges, settling with him for almost $3.4 million over a decade ago.

"So did it hurt (Cosby's) case?" He also admitted giving Quaalude, a powerful sedative, to young women so he could have sex with them.

That deposition would remain secret for nearly a decade. Sure, it was amusing, the dancing was magic (those pursed lips, that constipated face, the wiggling head and rigid, jerky movements) and Rudy was adorable, but the real reason I was rooting so hard for the Huxtables is because it was one of the first positive representations of Black American culture that I had been exposed to. Cosby denied he has an airplane and shouted, "I'm sick of him!"

The verdict ends years of controversy for the star of the enormously popular comedy series, The Cosby Show, after dozens of women made similar allegations.

After the jury was led out, the Emmy victor - dogged by allegations of similar assaults against 60 women - erupted in an expletive-laden tirade when prosecutors demanded his $1 million bail be revoked.

Why did it take so long to bring to justice a man who has been accused by more than 50 women of sexual crimes spanning five decades? However, in the meantime, he must undergo a "sexually violent predator assessment", Judge Steven O'Neill ordered on Friday.

After Thursday's verdict, District Attorney Kevin Steele apologized to Constand on behalf of the prosecutor's office for not filing charges.

The actor's lead lawyer has indicated Cosby will appeal. She and several other women went out into the courtroom hallway, embracing and crying tears of joy.

Five of them testified at his retrial. But the verdict spoke directly to their experiences, they said. "I feel like my faith in humanity is restored". "I thank the prosecution", she added. His lawyer, Tom Mesereau, has said "the fight is not over" and said he will appeal.

"We are vindicated. We are validated, and we are now part of the tsunami of women's power and justice".

All those vocal critics of #metooNZ when it launched, need to hear this next one - not a single survivor has insisted on naming and shaming their harasser. "And not only on #MeToo, but in a court of law where they are under oath, where they testified truthfully, where they are attacked", Allred said.

On April 27, Decide Steven O'Neill positioned Cosby on home arrest at his Philadelphia mansion, ordering him to be outfitted with a Global Positioning System ankle bracelet to observe compliance.

Christopher Adams, a defence attorney not connected with the case, has said they could have a strong argument. "I think prosecutors were bothered by those inconsistencies and might have thought 'We'll never get a conviction because the alleged victim's story has changed.' Now they realize they can call an expert".

Cosby waved to the crowd outside the courthouse, got into an SUV and left without saying anything.
