Adidas Confirms They Won't Be Dropping Kanye West and Yeezy

What did the Adidas CEO say? "Kanye has been, and is, a very important part of our strategy". "I'm not going to comment on every comment he or somebody else [is] making". Everyone from Roxane Gay to Chris Brown has been pointing out the foolishness of West's statements, but it was TMZ senior producer Van Lathan who called West out during his controversial interview on Tuesday.

Rorsted made his statement Thursday after reporting adidas' first-quarter net profits surpassed Under Armour and Nike.

"For many, many years we have been a member of the USA human rights declaration, which speaks very clearly against slavery, racism, child labor". "Like, you was there for 400 years and it's all y'all?"

In the past I have been a fan of Kanye West, but the latest news about him has left me quite speechless.

"My point is for us to have stayed in that position even though the numbers were on our side means that we were mentally enslaved", he added.

These tweets have since been deleted.

"Kanye has bashed Obama for not doing anything for Chicago", the source tells Us. "If they're an activist in a way that brings attention to something that moves the world forward, even if there's controversy at that moment, we're really interested in those athletes because I think it represents the world today".

West's comments caused an instant uproar online and spawned the circulation of an online petition encouraging Adidas to dump West's Yeezy line. "I am the descendant of slaves who refused to die and we all are if you're black and in America. I haven't had any conversation with Kanye in the last 24 hours", he continued. "It's positive energy. I haven't seen him, but I can feel him". Specifically, in the African American community, some of us think mental illness is not real, others think you can pray it away or limit it to those who talk to themselves.

When pressed on the subject, Rorsted acknowledged that "there clearly are some comments we don't support" and said Adidas expects to address the issue with West's team.

West was a vocal Trump supporter during the 2016 presidential race and recently returned to Twitter after a almost yearlong hiatus. However, these examples highlight the complexities of mental illness and how many of us are quick to just think it is amusing.
