Trump Tower transcripts give Mueller more fodder

The intermediary, Rob Goldstone, told the Senate Judiciary Committee that he proposed a second meeting between Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya and members of Trump's team in November 2016.

The House report had argued that the intelligence community "did not employ proper analytic tradecraft" in gauging Russian President Vladimir Putin's intentions.

The Senate Judiciary Committee on May 16 released more than 2,000 pages of documents related to its investigation into improper interference in the 2016 election, including transcripts and analysis of a dozen interviews.

"There is no doubt that Russian Federation undertook an unprecedented effort to interfere with our 2016 elections", Senate committee Chairman Richard Burr, a North Carolina Republican, said in a statement.

The controversial Russian meeting of Trump Jr.

"You could tell that they were not interested, and they were like looking at their iPhones or like, you know, just looking the other way, their watch", Akhmetshin said.

Special counsel Robert Mueller, however, could have an easy time finding that information, one expert said in highlighting the mystery call.

Trump's long-held admiration of Putin has been a source of suspicion and held up by critics as evidence that he and his campaign associates welcomed help from the Russians in defeating Democrat Hillary Clinton, even if they did not directly coordinate activity with Putin's government.

In his appearance, Trump Jr. says he does not remember many details and minimizes ors. Of course, the culminating piece of evidence in any obstruction of justice case would likely be the firing of Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey.

"Every billionaire who comes to Moscow wants to meet with Putin and a lot of them don't get the chance", Mr McFaul said.

"I've heard nothing to contradict anything from the [intelligence community assessment] particularly in terms of the fact Russian massively intervened in our elections to the objective of helping Mr. Trump and hurting Hillary Clinton", Warner told reporters, according to Politico. "I don't know. I never spoke to my father about it", he said. Goldstone wrote. "And because I am not able to respond out of courtesy to you and your father". Emin Agalarov informed them that an official request would have to be made in writing by Trump and delivered through Aras Agalarov.

Veselnitskaya, who has long denied that she was acting on behalf of the Russian government, was a lawyer who also represented a Russian businessman whom US authorities alleged used some of the Russian tax-fraud proceeds to buy Manhattan real estate.

However, Veselnitskaya apparently spent most of the meeting alleging that she had discovered the flow of illicit funds to the Democratic National Committee (DNC), as well as inveighing against the Magnitsky Act, a USA sanctions law that prompted Russia to ban US adoptions of Russian children.

"I just sent somebody an email that says I'm setting up a meeting for someone that is going to bring you damaging information about somebody who was running to become the President of the United States", said Goldstone in the transcript.

Mr Peskov invited Mr Trump to attend the Olympic Winter Games in February 2014 in Sochi "and said he'd be happy to meet him there or at any future time", Mr Goldstone said, an offer Mr Trump did not accept.

Trump Jr. replied to the email, saying, "If it's what you say I love it". "There is no doubt that Russian Federation undertook an unprecedented effort to interfere with our 2016 elections".

Agalarov was a partner of Trump's in staging the Miss Universe pageant in Moscow in 2013.
