Cavs All-Star Kevin Love sustains head injury in Game 6

It hasn't been just the playoffs that have been a grind on the center of the Cavaliers' universe.

Boston's strategy has been simple but also incredibly hard to execute: Put your most muscular players in the game and hope they can withstand the beating James administers while also taking away Cleveland's other looks.

The mood was tempered inside the Boston Celtics locker room following Wednesday night's Game 5 win over Cleveland. Tip-off will be at 8:30 p.m. ET.

On Friday, James will take the floor with his future hanging in the air. I know he'll be great tomorrow, and then after that we'll see.

More baffling was Lue's answer to a question about why he did not use more of Kyle Korver, his sharpshooting 3-point specialist. The Celtics are 10-0 at TD Garden in the 2018 postseason.

But that was as close as the Cavs got to rattling the Celtics, and Boston were never seriously threatened.

"His recovery's gone great, and we're excited about that", Stevens said. I like what we've done the last three games defensively, even Game 5 in Boston yesterday. "He didn't play him, so it kind of threw us for a loop. I haven't won every elimination game, but I've had some really good games and I've had some subpar games as well".

Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love left Game 6 after he collided with Boston Celtics rookie Jayson Tatum midway through the first quarter. They outrebounded the Cavaliers, 45-39, and were more careful with the ball. The Cavs were forced into 15 turnovers.

The Cavs' loss can't be blamed on possible fatigue for James. Numerous turnovers were sloppy, careless passes. Baynes played 29 minutes in that contest - the most he's had in the series - and his presence made a noticeable impact on Cavs' big man Tristan Thompson, who only came away with six rebounds after pulling down 12 in the previous outing.

"The goal for that change was we're going to have to play big some", Brad Stevens told reporters after the game.

Game 6 is in Cleveland on Friday night, with the decisive seventh game back in Boston on Sunday if necessary. "I think the unfortunate events of the injuries that they've had have allowed him to, I believe, get better faster than I believe they expected here". He lost Game 6 in the East semifinals in 2010 to the Celtics and was soon on his way to joining the Heat.

Hill totaled 26 points and Smith 20 in Games 3 and 4 at The Q.

Expand that search back to age 32 seasons and Jordan's age 32 shows up with James' 2017 playoff run to add to the list.
