However, the Pixel 3 XL will now feature an edge-to-edge screen. People familiar with the matter said the larger phone has a almost edge-to-edge screen, except for the bottom bezel known as the chin.

A Bloomberg report claims that Foxconn will make Google's next generation Pixel handsets.

Google is launching new Pixel phones this coming fall. Both models will include upgraded, single-lens cameras on the back, with optimised software for bokeh effect.

If this is legit (and that's a big "if"), then only the bigger model will sport a notch, as you can see from the images below.

After months of speculation, it appears Google has let the cat is out of the bag.

Based on Bloomberg's report, the Pixel 3 XL will indeed have the notch that we saw earlier in the week, and while it was noted that it will not be as wide as that on the iPhone X, it will instead be taller. Besides, the Pixel 3 XL could also feature a dual-lens front-facing camera, further adds the report.

After the Pixel 2 XL launched past year, some users quickly complained about an abnormal blue tint in the screen, which could have affected early sales. The Pixel 3 would have a single camera at the front as well.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are expected to come with Snapdragon 845 processor and likely to be launched in 4 GB and 6 GB models. For the third year in a row, Verizon will be the exclusive US carrier partner for the new Pixels.

The upcoming Android release has baked-in support for notched displays, with the ability to adjust layout automatically according to which sections of the screen are non-functional.

That also makes Google's prospect quite challenging given that nearly all Android flagships have the same internal specifications. Apparently Google has been shopping around for sometime for a new manufacturer for their line of smartphones.

Whether or not Google is able to succeed in eating into Apple's iPhone market remains to be seen, but clearly it's not maintaining its Pixel range of phones as just an idle hobby. Until now details of the upcoming Pixel phones were scarce, but now, for the first time, we have some information about both the Pixel 3 and 3 XL, on to how they are going to look.
