Harry and Meghan to embark on first royal tour as couple

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are no doubt using today to rest ahead of their jam-packed tour, which includes 76 engagements over 16 days.

Meghan Markle is all about her girl squad, even when she's traveling across the world for a major royal tour.

It's understood the royals landed at Sydney Airport a short time ago on a Qantas flight from London, not an earlier British Airways flight as had been previously reported.

Harry and Meghan's official duties start on Tuesday morning where the Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove will welcome them to Sydney at his residence, Admiralty House.

Harry and Meghan's sojourn in the southern hemisphere will be more brief but will see the couple retracing parts of the path once trod by his father and mother.

Later in the tour they will attend an Invictus Games event on Cockatoo Island in Sydney before enjoying a reception at the Bennelong Restaurant at the Opera House.

NSW Police cleared roads during peak hour as the royal couple was whisked to Admiralty House in Kirribilli in a white Holden sedan.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have arrived in Sydney for their royal tour.

They will then head back to Sydney before travelling to Fraser Island, then onwards to Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand.

The four country tour officially begins in Sydney tomorrow.

Jacinda Ardern said they are still working through the details of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's trip.

Kensington Palace said: "There is a long history of friendship between the Royal Family and Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand, and their links with the United Kingdom are extensive". They will also be joined by representatives from the Invictus Games, before heading to Taronga Zoo to become antiquated with two baby koalas.
