Arsenal can win the Premier League title - Robert Pires

Few would argue that Arsenal look revitalised under Unai Emery after 22 years under Arsène Wenger.

It still feels like English football is in the introductory stage of its relationship with Unai Emery, but with each passing week the picture of the Arsenal head coach is brought into sharper focus. "I talked with a lot of people who had interacted with him in his time and it was very reassuring".

In conference, Emery said that a number of players had recovered from injuries and trained, such as forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.

"Before Wenger arrived, Arsenal celebrated the 1-0 (win) and was based on defensive solidity". "We need to be demanding and here I want every player to be at that high level".

Arsenal visit Bournemouth in the Premier League this Sunday following the final worldwide break of 2018.

Pires, who was part of Arsenal's Invincibles side that went 49 games without defeat and clinched the title in 2004, believes Emery is fully vindicating the Gunners' decision to appoint him as Arsene Wenger's successor. "I have spoken with him and I push him to give even more quality in matches, and keep up the good performances against big and small teams, home and away".

"Both are very hard, but we want to ensure we perform the best we can on both fronts".

He added: "I want to create a team that know how to exploit the space, are able to counter-attack, or when there's no space, calmly find a way to create openings".

After Bouremouth, Arsenal will travel to Ukraine to face Vorskla on Thursday before the North London derby just three days later.

Meanwhile, Arsenal director of football Raul Sanllehi also said gushed about Emery's positivity.

"We can improve this team".

Mavropanos is also still out, but we should have enough choices at the back with Sokratis, Mustafi and Holding available, and Bellerin and Kolasinac (or Maitland-Niles) to cover for the wing-backs. Arsenal were falling. We had to stop that and start to lift them.
